November 2014 loc treatment

This month I decided not to interlock my new growth to give my loc a a rest until the Christmas/New Year's season.

I bought some Carol's Daughter products that I've used in the past that has worked for my hair texture.

So I purchased the Black Vanilla trio...sulfate free shampoo, hair smoothie, and leave conditioner. I washed my hair with the shampoo twice which left my locs feeling super soft. Afterwards, I applied the hair smoothie and put a plastic shower cap over my locs and wrapped it all up in a scarf for a few hours. I don't like applying heat to my hair unless it is absolutely necessary.  After rinsing out the hair smoothie, I then started smoothing some Mimosa Hair honey from my scalp to the ends of my locs as I gently retwisted the new growth. 

One thing I can say, I've been using Carol's Daughter products since she opened in 1993 selling her items in mason jars and the quality is the same now as it was back then. Absolutely amazing! All of the items I used softened my hair texture so it doesn't feel dry and crunchy.

The Ashy feet Scrub used in the shower and it removed layers of dry skin leaving my feet nice and smooth. 
The Ashy feet butter makes my feet feel like I just came from the nail salon getting a pedicure. Nice and smooth as well as moisturized. Love it!!!
2. Buttafly Cute lil Face Kit- Buttafly's Cute lil Face Wash, Buttafly's Cute lil Hydrating Face Cream, Cute lil Face Scrub, Suga Suga lip scrub, Lip Butter.
Buttafly's Cute lil Face Wash- I use it everyday (once in the morning and once at night) leaving my face moisturized and feeling refreshed. It's also clearing up my skin. Everyone tells me that my face looks a lot brighter than it used to be.
Buttafly's Cute lil Hydrating Face Cream- Once I wash my face I would apply the face cream and in this cold weather, it keeps my face moisturized and feeling wonderful.
Cute lil Face Scrub- I use it 2-3 times a week to scrub my face. Leaving my face nice and smooth and feeling oh so soft.
Suga Suga lip scrub- The cold weather makes my lips peel more than they do any other time in the year so whenever I feel my lips too dry, I use the lip scrub to peel the dead layer of skin off and soften my lips leaving them nice and supple. As much as I try not to taste it, it actually tastes sweet :)
Lip Butter- I use it everyday to soften my lips.
3. Buttafly's Cute lil Face Mask- I apply the mask on my face before getting in the shower once a week. Once I rinse it off, my skin feels brand new. 
Buttafly's Hair and Body Jaloe - It's like a lotion for your hair and body, I use it for my hair as well as lotion at work for my hands. My hands get extra dry after I wash them so I use it to moisturize my hands. I hate having dry hands! This Jaloe works beautifully. 
Buttafly's Bath Body and Hair Oil - One of my favorite items out of the whole package. It greases my scalp and softens my locs and when I get out of the shower, I use it on my body before drying off. Leave my skin soft and smelling awesome. 
Buttafly's Juicy Locs Loc and Scalp Refresher- whenever my scalp feels dry or starts to itch, I spray the Loc and scalp refresher on my scalp and it feels so relieved. 
Buttafly's Body Butter- I use this butter to retwist my locs and when I interlock my new growth. I also use it on my body when I need some serious moisture. 
Buttafly's Hair and Body Wash - The best thing since liquid soap!!! I use it as shampoo and I use it as a body wash. My locs love love love this wash! and I don't need to use much to cleanse my hair. As a body wash, it feels and smells so good. I had 2 scents Berrylicious and Tropical Spice, it has my body and bathroom smelling oh so delicious!!!! 
Buttafly's Gourmet Suga Scrub - Yeah Yeah Yeah!!! Awesome!!! I use it once a week to smooth out my skin and it feels amazing! Love it!!!!
Buttafly's Touches Perfume Oil - Tropical Spice scent has been a hit everywhere I go. Everyone tells me it smells soooo!
Fizzy Lifting Bath Potion - The one thing out of the entire package that I have not tried yet but I plan on trying it real soon. 
I absolutely recommend every item that Buttafly Jonez sells. Her products are amazing and worth every penny!!!

Wash and set 7/28/13

Today I shampooed my locs with Renpure Originals Argan Oil Luxurious Shampoo. I'm only using this stuff until I get my Buttafly Jonez products because I enjoy her products a lot more. This shampoo tends to clean my locs really well but leaves them feeling hard.

After my shampoo, I applied Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Cholesterol with Shea Butter and Aloe to soften my locs a bit. I left it in for about 30 mins then rinsed thoroughly. 

Once I rinsed out the Cholesterol, I then applied Carol's Daughter Hair milk pudding from roots to tip

As additional moisturizer I also greased my scalp with Mega Care Grape Seed Oil. The tube says it provides the hair and scalp with an abundance of rich minerals and so it does!! With an awesome scent :) 

Then I decided to curl my locs with pipe cleaners and do some braid twists in the front (since I don't like my hair to fall in my face...I braided it to my ears and curls the rest. Thanks to my mom for helping me curl the back)

Now I'm doing the one thing that I despise the most.....sitting under the dryer LOL 

Once I'm done with the dryer, I may decide to sleep with the pipe cleaners or take them out...we will see :) 

I'll take pics and post the finished results tomorrow.

Hair regimen Oct 15, 2012

Hello everybody!!! Peace and Blessings!!!
Today I decided to do my hair and mix two of my favorite company's products: Earthbalisms and Buttafly Jonez :)

I shampooed my locs first with Earthbalisms Mint Mary Teapoo Bar to have my scalp feeling minty fresh:

Then I shampooed my locs with Buttafly Jonez Luxurious Hair and Body Wash (scent Ooh, She's Fine) 

Meanwhile...in the kitchen, I was boiling the Mint Mary Tea Rinse by Earthbalisms which I let cool then used  the rinse as directed...ran it through my locs about 3 times (from one bowl to the other). 

I had some left in the pot so I added it to my trusty spray bottle to use as a spritz for moisture...what I added to it was some of Buttafly Jonez Bath, Body & Hair Oil (scent Ooh, She's Fine I just love this scent!!). This mix I will utilize while I'm re twisting my new growth because by the time I get to the top of my head...my locs are usually already dry. 

Once I start re twisting my locs, I will use Buttafly Jonez Hair and Body Butter which I absolutely love especially since my locs are dyed I need to keep them moisturized to prevent breakage and dryness. 

Since I'm only at the "just rinsed" stage..I will be posting pics of my final results of my re twist. 

If you're looking for companies that actually care about your hair and put LOVE in their products....I definitely recommend Buttafly Jonez. Co as well as Earthbalisms. 

Here is what my locs look like after my re twist and braided my locs for a braid out (I just love my locs wavy LOL)

Earthbalisms Product Review

Before I interlocked my locs last week I shampooed my locs with theEarthbalisms Mint Mary Teapoo Bar

My scalp felt tingly and wonderful. I love how the soap easily dissolves and smells devine.
